The Week Where Days Blow Past Like the Clouds ~ Homeschool Week Wrap-Up

Do you ever look back on a time that seemed to stretch on and on and as you neared the end you couldn't wait for the next thing, and yet, as you stand on the precipice of the next thing, you look back, longingly, at what is now over and wish you had it all over again?

I've watched the skies in our little part of the world this week. Clouds of bluish white, middle gray, and dark slate have scudded overhead at dizzying speeds, the wind varying between a soothing breeze and a lashing force. I sat Thursday afternoon, watching through the window, contemplating the wrap-up of this homeschool week, and I thought that the pace of our lives are a lot like those clouds...sometimes calming and gentle and sometimes lashing us on to where we aren’t sure we want to go.

So teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom. ~ Psalm 90:12

We have only five days of school left, and this homeschooling mama is as ready for a break as the pupils. Yet, I'm standing on the edge of my precipice, wishing I could recapture some moments with my children, before we fall headlong into the next school year where I'll have one in high school and one new kindergarten student and three in the middle of the school sandwich.

The children are rushing to finish their curriculum and our week has been crammed with end of the year busyness. There isn't much to highlight, unless you'd like to hear about.... impromptu early morning talk with the 12yo {and the 14yo and the 10yo eavesdropping J} about addictive drugs, both legal and illegal; our bodies being a temple of the Holy Spirit; and standing up to peer pressure.

....stretching out my coffee so I could have a few more minutes in the Word.

....emptying the almost-new bag of cotton balls to make cloud formations for a lapbook.

....sorting through toys and discovering that the storage bear is the most fun toy of them all.

Building our home this week…

Slow but steady wins the race. Right? Somebody please tell me that this is true. J

We’re still painting but finishing this weekend and moving on to polyurethane the interior doors, plus the electrical work is getting finished. Lights soon!

Have a wonderful spring weekend! J
